What does a Drop-In look like at Wild Clay?
Our Drop-Ins provide an opportunity for you or a group of friends/family to come get your “clay fix” for a few hours and make something with unstructured creative freedom. There will not be any personalized instruction time, but we will check in on you from time to time to see if you have any questions.
- Drop-Ins last up to 2 hours — 1 hr 45 min for creative time, final 15 min for cleanup (cleaning fee of $25 will be charged if space is left with a mess)
- $40/person for hand-building, $50/person for wheel (must have prior wheel experience, no instruction provided)
- You are provided with 3 lbs of clay included per person to start with (5 lbs for wheel sessions). More clay can be purchased on-site starting at $3/lb
- Bisque firings are included in the drop-in price!
- Glaze firings (upon subsequent visit to glaze your pieces a few weeks later) are charged between $2-20 per piece depending on the cubic size (see chart in store) and must be glazed with cone 5/6 glazes only. You do not pay the drop-in fee if only returning to glaze!
- To be eligible for firing, pieces must qualify as properly constructed according to standard clay construction guidelines given at time of payment
- Our studio is limited in storage space. If you do not return to glaze your work after 60 days, we will consider it abandoned and the work may be discarded to make space for other work.
- Studio staff reserves the right to refuse firing artwork if it is deemed unsafe or hazardous to kiln elements or other artwork based on construction quality (too thick), not hollowing pieces, or trapping air in the objects. Please follow all advisement to ensure your work will be safe for firing.
